THE BOARDWALK

Can we just revel in this image for a moment.

My day.  These folks are so awesome.  The boy on the right is my son's great-grandfather.  The man next to him is his great-great-grandfather.  Those bloomers have me stunned with envy.  Great Grandma Sylvia reminds me of Coco.  Jesse Kamm Spring 2012 perhaps???  Would you wear it?  Thanks Golda Bear.

STUDIO VISIT WITH CLARE VIVIER

LAST WEEK I WENT TO MY FRIEND CLARE'S STUDIO FOR A LONG OVERDUE VISIT.  WE SWAPPED.  SHE PUT A NEW JESSE KAMM SACK DRESS AND A POCKET TANK TOP IN HER COLLECTION, AND I WALKED WITH SOME FAB NEW LEATHER WARES.  SHE TOOK MY PHOTO, THEN TOOK PHOTOS OF HER BAGS.  I LOVE CLARE'S WORK.  I EVEN LOVE ALL OF HER PAPER GOODS THAT COME WITH THE BAGS.  AS ALWAYS, I AM INSPIRED.

BADLANDS

This weekend I went to a beach.  It was millions of years old and at the top of a mountain.  I collected rocks.

MOM AND DAD

I am sitting at my desk totaling up wool yardage for fall, listening to Mark Ronson and my boy Alexu.  My mom is coming to visit from Illinois in less than three hours.  I am full of glee.  My mom is awesome.  My dad is awesome.  When I was little, my family was very different from the other families in the midwest.  I think we were straight up hippies.  My mom is an amazing potter, and my dad is a man of many talents.  He built the house I grew up in with his bare hands.  He learned how to build a house by reading library books.  They were the ones who made me who I am today.  I know how to make things, because they made things.  I thought I should share these snapshots.  My parents were foxy.  We rocked underpants as hats, and drove a boss Plymoth.  What a life.
