BRIGHT LIGHTS, BIG BABY
So this girl is gonna have a baby.
A party was thrown.
There was sunshine and Pimms cups.
There was Jazzy Shockers, Lin Dizzy, and Lucky Doo.
There were chic females, Galore.
There was Laughter, Galore.

MARFA IV
Part IV. A brief ode to Donald Judd. The Chinati Foundation and the arts movement in Marfa Texas was founded by Donald Judd in the 70's. He took 340 acres of open desert sprawl, and turned it into permanent gallery space for large contemporary art. I have photographed none of that.
I felt particularly akin to his obsessive order and placement of things about the studios in which he worked. My new motto in life after this week spent in Marfa is WWDJD. You were not allowed to take photos in any of his buildings or studios, so these we mostly shot from behind the glass... and some photos of his perfect and simple furniture.

MARFA II
The Marfa tour began on May 29. This is part II. Some around-the-towners. My spring 11 collection was born here, while riding a bike and wearing a hat through the silence. I love the washed out Texas daylight. It was so quiet. The quite makes you thoughtful. It made me very thoughtful. It made me want to return. A lot. Like every year. Forever. And ever.
...i know, i know, but what good is a Marfa tour with out the Prada installation. Sue me.

MEMORIAL DAY
Pleasant as glitch! Freedom. Iced coffee. Bike ride. Dead bird. Tree chair. Skate park. I will fall asleep thinking of the veteran who winked at me on the road today. He wore a red and white cowboy hat, a handle bar mustache, and a chambray shirt. He was driving a 1980's Cadillac, which he had decorated with red white and blue ribbons. He was proud. He was happy. I thanked him for his service as I shot a wink right back at him, through his window and onto the red white and blue wreath that sat on the dash.
