GROWING UP

circa 2006

This morning we Kamm-Browers went to see our friends for breakfast.  I am always blown away to see my two stunning girlfriends, Gaby and Georgia, all grown up.  When I was starting my company in 2005, I worked part-time for a family helping mold the minds of two beautiful girls.  Seven years later, we remain dear to each other.  I am grateful to them for their support through the years.  Liza, the truly amazing mama, wore Jesse Kamm to the Oscars, and now her oldest is planning to wear Jesse Kamm to the senior prom.  (I wore Jessica McClintock, but I suppose that is beside the point.)  I was charmed to see the girls still carrying their beat up JK canvas bags from so many moons ago.  Above is a photo shoot we did with the SS2006 collection on my last week working for anyone other than myself.  I love these photos.  Here is to growing up, so very gracefully.

THE PARTY CONTINUES

Meet the Robber.  Luke's gift to me. 6'3".  Shaped by Al himself.  Ya hoo.  And it looks good in the studio.

THE ANNIVERSARY PARTY

Today marks five years of Jesse + Luke.  For a gift, I printed and framed these three images I shot of our house in Panama.  I had my friend, photographer extraordinaire, Katrina Dickson help me.  In my mind they represent three acts.  Act 1. A strong foundation.  Act 2. I am a working man.  Act 3. Now sit back and enjoy the view.   This is the house that I drew and Luke engineered.  The house we both worked to erect, with the help of library books and three strong lads with no construction experience. We are going back to Panama this summer to finish the house, and enjoy some of the waves that are rolling in over the reef shown in act 3.  Life is good.  Here is to getting in over your head.

SPORT SHORTS

Yesterday I went to meet my dear and talented friend Sophie Buhai for juice in Silverlake.  I busted out my Persimmon Sport Shorts for the first time ever.  They are so awesome.  I want to wear them day and night. They come in Bikini Pink, Persimmon, and Black.  You can find them at MARYAM NASSIR ZADEH and at KICKPEAT.   These stores also carry Sophie's rad line, VENA CAVA.  Get it all.

FROM A TO B

If you are one of the lucky ladies who walk away in the limited edition 'Hand Painted Plaid Print Sack Dress' next season, here is how it came to be.  JK + LB working it out, non-toxic ink and elbow grease.  Our operation is nothing if not root-sy and home grown.  Who wouldn't want to wear fabric that once laid next to a pirate ship full of dudes named Tomato, Don, and PP School Bus.  It is surely better than laying on a dusty floor in China where the seamstress would rather be playing with pirate ships, than sewing your garments.
